Rano Verma

Ms. Rano Verma is a senior financial market professional with over 30 years of experience in India’s debt capital markets, specializing in institutional fund-raising, debt structuring, and market development.

Experience

She is widely recognized as a subject-matter expert and has played a significant role in shaping debt market practices, particularly during periods of market volatility and liquidity stress. She is a pioneer in the structuring and distribution of Floating Rate Bonds, Perpetual Bonds, and Partly Payable Non-Convertible Debentures, instruments that have expanded funding avenues for financial institutions, corporates, and state-linked entities, while strengthening investor participation and confidence in the Indian debt markets. She is ranked among the top 6 Industry Icons in Indian debt markets.

She started her career with the wealth desk at Bajaj Capital Ltd, then moved to SMIFS Securities Ltd and later SPA Capital. She served as Associate Director & Co-Head – Debt Capital Markets at Trust Capital, leading several industry-first bond issuances, including landmark transactions for state governments and large institutions. Her leadership contributed to Trust Capital being awarded IFR Asia's “Most Trusted Bond House in India.” 

As a Managing Director at InCred Capital, she established the Debt Capital Markets and Strategy platform from inception, raising over ₹450 billion (approximately USD 5.5 billion) and scaling the firm to a top-tier position in institutional league tables. 

Rano joined Poonawalla Fincorp Limited, leading Strategy, Service, and Debt Syndication.

Beyond capital markets, she actively drives technology-led and AI-driven customer service initiatives and digital loan products aimed at expanding financial inclusion. She is consistently recognized for her strategic leadership, execution capability, and people-centric approach. 

She holds a Master’s in Business Management from FORE School of Management, New Delhi.
